    Genesius Theatre Reading

Music is the universal language. It can bridge the distance between people and cultures, and cross chasms both natural and man-made. And in 1950’s Memphis, the cradle of rock n’ roll, music can make dreams come true, or it can shatter them … sometimes at the same time.

Come and meet Huey, a DJ ahead of his time with no patience for conventions or racism, and Felicia, a talented singer whose skin color keeps her silky voice off of white radio stations and out of white homes. These two will be tied together in ways both large and small for years to come, and it all begins when Genesius Theatre presents "MEMPHIS"
    Playing August 10th thru the 19th, 2018.
